Santa is arriving and visiting Fairfield on November 26th! Santa Claus, played by Joe Skarupa, a perennial Santa-About-Town, will arrive by hook-and-ladder down Reef Road at 10 AM. He will sit in the gazebo until approximately 2:00PM to listen to the wide-eyed wishes of children. Santa’s elves will give each child an adorable, small holiday gift item sponsored by Bankwell Fairfield, plus a yummy free cookie from Garelick and Herbs.
As in the past, the ever-popular children’s petting zoo will return, from 10 AM to 1 PM weather permitting, sponsored by TVEyes … as well as horse and buggy rides, sponsored by Bigelow Tea, Fairfield University, ACBI Insurance, Delamar Southport, LCP General Contractors, LLC, from approximately 10:00 to 2:00 PM. A food truck restaurant will sell breakfast sandwiches/coffee and hamburgers and hot dogs to the public, plus a variety drinks. The beautiful and classic holiday music will create an even more festive feeling, as children walk up into the Gazebo.
Also new this year, Chamber member FTC, will be a hosting and showing a Special Family Film: Frozen - The Sing-Along Edition from 1:00 - 3:00pm, held at the Fairfield Theatre Company in The Warehouse. Admission is $5 per ticket.
The Chamber has invited town organizations to distribute information and/or sell items to benefit and support their programs. There is no charge to participate, and all non-profits are welcome. It’s a great time to let the general public know who you are and what you do, and to promote your organization. However, because space is limited, if an organization would like to participate in this free event, please call the Chamber office at 255-1011.
November 26th is also “Small Business Saturday”, a national campaign started by American Express to promote, and remind our residents and people, to “shop local” and support local businesses. The Chamber will give out “I Love Fairfield” button pins, along with a “Shop Local” items from the Town, including canvas bags.
This event is made available to the community through the generous support of the Chamber’s membership, specifically: Fairfield Collision Center as the Event Sponsor, plus: AFC Urgent Care and Massage Envy.
