Ribbon Cutting - NATIVE LLC
NATIVE’S Plant Nursery Ribbon Cutting
Grand Opening Weekend
May 11th, 12th and 13th
The Fairfield Chamber of Commerce is happy to announce that its new member, NATIVE plant nursery, has scheduled its official Grand Opening for Friday, May 11th, at 4:30pm. A ribbon cutting ceremony will be officiated by First Selectman Michael Tetreau.
The public is invited to the grand opening/ribbon cutting, and attendees will enjoy a nice introduction to their beautiful native plant nursery in Fairfield. Sales on plants will occur all weekend long, and they will also have Native Plant talks on Saturday and Sunday.
Owner William L. Kenney, says: “We are thrilled for the opportunity to welcome the public to visit and embrace our philosophy of using native plants in the landscape. Using native plants is beneficial for a number of reasons:
- Aesthetic beauty – you will be pleasantly surprised to see the wide variety of native perennials, shrubs, trees and vines available to beautify your landscape with flowers, fruit, attractive bark and foliage.
- Wildlife habitat – native plants consistently provide higher amounts of food, shelter and habitat than non-native plants. Ask us which plants can attract birds and other desired wildlife.
- Pollinator gardens and other niche gardens- native plants are the backbone of pollinator gardens and our staff can help you design your garden with the appropriate plants. Ask us!
- Lower maintenance and lower watering demands typically accompany the use of native plants when placed in their preferred sun exposure and soil moisture level.
- Enjoy our edible plants such as blueberries, blackberries and persimmons.
